Global Forest Resources Assessment 2025

Country-reported forest statistics for 236 countries and territories: forest area, other wooded land, land area, naturally regenerating, planted and primary forest (1990, 2000, 2010, 2015, 2020, 2025), annual averages of deforestation, forest expansion, afforestation and natural expansion for 1990-2000 through 2020-2025, growing stock, biomass and carbon, and annual disturbances (fire, insects, diseases, weather) from 2000, with tiers and flags. FRA "forest" is a land-use definition (at least 0.5 ha, more than 10% canopy, trees over 5 m, not mainly agricultural), not satellite tree cover. The report adds FAO's global estimates, which include FAO modelling and a remote sensing survey.
