Emissions Inequality Dashboard

Each global income percentile's share of world income, population and consumption-based carbon dioxide emissions, for every year from 1990 to 2023, with the richest 1% split into finer slices down to the top 0.001%. Built from national consumption emissions spread across each country's income distribution for 117 countries. Covers carbon dioxide only, and the split depends on SEI's assumed link between income and emissions (its elasticity). Also global and covered-country totals of emissions, population and GDP for each year.

Programme
The historical series ends in 2023 (2023 methodology update), but its 2023 national values are territorial carbon dioxide while 1990-2022 are consumption-based (Switzerland 122.0 Mt in 2022, 32.7 Mt in 2023; the historicalDataByCountry responses for Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom are kept as snapshots), so the site publishes 1990-2022 only. The API has no versions or DOI, and it is served from a host named sei-eqtrans-dev.net, which the dashboard's own API page links to. The address could change without notice, so each response is kept as a dated snapshot. Figures differ from those printed in Oxfam's releases because of method updates. Not a US federal product.
Updates
Irregular, roughly yearly alongside SEI and Oxfam publications
